Jon Kaiman, the 46-year old North Hempstead Town
Supervisor, brings to his office a distinguished record of
public and private sector accomplishments and is committed
to continuing the Town's tradition of sound finances and
good government.
Jon has experience with municipal issues not only as a
jurist but as a litigator, town administrator and advisor
to the Supervisor. As the Town of North Hempstead Public
Safety Commissioner, he oversaw 9 divisions including Code
Enforcement, Harbor Patrol and Emergency Management. While
as Commissioner, Jon made important strides in improving
the quality of life throughout North Hempstead. Jon
reorganized and revitalized the Town's Enforcement
Divisions, resulting in more than a 500 percent increase in
the number of tickets issued — removing blight,
reducing litter and debris and decreasing unsafe and
illegal housing conditions throughout the Town.
In 1999, Jon was elected to Nassau County District Court.As
a Judge, Jon presided over criminal, civil,
landlord/tenant, and municipal code cases, and received the
highest rating from the Nassau County Bar Association's
Judicial Screening Committee two years in a row.
